lisa's last day

Friday, 3 May, 2002 - my last day at Convergys. It was a sad day, even though people told me I was being far too smug and cheerful (they're just jealous). I got a lovely card, a Winnie the Pooh toy mobile phone (with candy inside wheeee!), a giant lolly, and a little ghetto blaster type stereo (because I mentioned that I didn't have a radio nor something on which to play cassettes). I'm really sorry to be leaving my workmates; they were great fun to be with every day. Well, almost every day - some days they got right on my last nerve. Ah, I pull both your legs. I couldn't have asked for better and goofier people as workmates. I'm going to miss you!!

Jack and Jim (went up a...never mind) in matching, flaming shirts. Jim's hot rod was parked outside. Jack's shirt made one of the managers cringe - and he's colour blind. Some (drunk?) kid we passed on our way to dinner shouted out to Jim, "Wow...that's a GREAT shirt!". No, he wasn't being sarcastic.

After work, we wombled over to the fabulous Fort St. George while the weather was still niceish. That's Heather enjoying a glass o' something.

James and Alison (you may recognise her from my housewarming party, as well as most of the others). The empties are starting to accumulate.

Chris and Melanie who LOVES having her picture taken.

Richard (who despite the cardigan is actually extremely cool) and Jack (who has covered up the shirt - hurrah!).

Tim, our editor - the happiest man on earth. Awwwwwwwwwww.

Dinner was at the Bun Shop's tapas bar upstairs. We had a set menu, whereupon they threw several plates of food at us as soon as we sat down. Great food, but not enough of it and the service was kind of minimal. I'd go back in a smaller group, but I'm not convinced that it was worth the £12/person (and they charged us for 14 people even though we were only 13).

Heather the birthday girl and Jack the sleepy boy.

Why you shouldn't take pictures of yourself when you've had a bottle of wine. I think Heather posed for an inflatable doll model.

Mike, also lovingly known as "Spikey Mike". What is it with the shirts on the men tonight?

Janice and her husband Paul. Poor man - it must be so dull to be out with a bunch of drunken people who work together. He's a very nice man and Janice is always great for a laugh!

A very dark picture of Sarah and Chris. Stupid camera batteries died at this point. Wah!

Ian looking slightly stunned (I shall refrain from saying more), and Sam and Tim try not to crack up - but fail.

Sam and Tim hold the pose. Awwwwwwwww ain't it cute?

A horrible picture of the table, but the funniest picture of Ian ever (sitting next to Jack on the left). Can you just hear him saying, "Hmmmm?" in this shot? Gaaaaaah.

Everyone looking normal and there's Tim - who remains the happiest man on earth. You gotta love him. :)

Not the best picture of Janice and Paul but oh my...that picture of Jim is priceless. "Mmrrffff aarrgmmmph another lager! Arrrrrmmmmgggpphh."

Me, Heather, Jack, Ian, and Tim. Heather and I look like a two headed creature with our black tops blending in like that. Ni!

Okay, okay. Jim can look normal in pictures from time to time. Here's proof!

The large drunken table next to us thought it would be amusing to have a competition to try and figure out what we did for a living. They passed this list over to us for our perusal. Should I be insulted that several guessed that we worked with computer software? Hmph.

Here is our response. The third one is Tim's and the second to last one is Jim's (sorry, I cut it off - it says "characters from the 'other' South Park series"). The rest are mine. Aren't we clever?
